Have y'all signed up for the All You Grocery Challenge yet? Remember, the grand prize is a $1000 grocery card, a year's supply of Knorr side dishes, and an appearance on the CBS Early Show in December! Need I say more? Read more about it below...and sign up by Sunday, 7/12.
Here's how it works...
The Challenge:
Between 7/13 and 8/17 (you must sign up by 7/12 to participate), spend no more than $25 per person per week on groceries. For our family of four, this would mean I could spend $100 per week on groceries alone, which is actually more than we spend now. I know many of you are spending less than this amount on groceries already, and if not, this is a great time to start. Like I said, you can do this!
The Tips & Rules:
- During the contest, groceries that you purchase count toward your weekly total. However, feel free to grow, barter or use stockpiled food to supplement your meals. Creativity and ingenuity count!
- If you eat at a restaurant or buy takeout, the cost must go toward the week's total.
- Household supplies and toiletries do not count toward each weeks total.
- Keep track of your money using the optional Spending Log.
- Save receipts--you will be required to submit them if you are a finalist.
- Post your strategies on our , and be sure to tell us your money-saving tips
- Check out all the official rules at the All You website.
Ten finalists will be chosen, and the winner will receive a $1000 grocery card, a year's supply of Knorr side dishes, and an appearance on (get ready...) the CBS Early Show in December! How motivating is that?! All entries and exit forms will be judged by All You's editors, based on the following criteria: Staying within contest spending guidelines (50%); creativity and ingenuity (25%); and healthy choices (25%). All You will select 10 finalists, from whom a winner will be chosen on or before August 24, 2009.
Although I won't be competing in the contest officially, I would love to see a Fiddledeedee reader win, so sign up now for the All You Grocery Challenge, and let me know when you do so I can keep up with you!

* Favorite coupon trip ever - Haven't been doing this long, but my first one with friends that were taking me on a coupon-ing field trip. I spent $62.44 and saved $128.18.
Posted giveaway promotion and link on my facebook profile.
Hey Sarah- I posted a link to your give away on my site. Now, I need to go through my receipts to find a good couponing story for you!
Hi, I'm Stephanie and I've only been couponing for a little over a month now. I am SO glad that you do your blog because it has helped me tremendously while I'm getting used to the whole "couponing" concept. My very first trip was worth $40 but I only spent $12. My favorite trip by far has been my most recent one. I got $355 worth of groceries for $110!!!!! This included 18 Mcormick Grinder Seasonings for FREE!!!! Thanks so much for taking the time out to do this blog!

I think my favorite grocery trip ever was at Publix (of course!). I did 3 separate transactions each using a $5/$25 RiteAid competitor coupon and got over $75 worth of stuff for around $7! Thanks so much for the giveaway!

Every coupon trip is fun for me because I always like to see how much I can save. My last trip I saved 77% off of the total cost. I compine coupons with BOGO items, and usually only have to pay for produce items that do not have coupons.
Hmmm. My favorite shopping trip ... well, that would have to be currently: found a tearpad with a free sour cream (up to $3.00 off) when you buy any hormel bacon bits. Publix had the breakstone sour cream on sale last week for $1.25 and the bacon bits are $1.79 and the coupon automatically takes off $3. Woohoo. Of course, I always buy more than just those 2 items and I have mentioned it to the cashier ... but they just seem happy it doesn't ask for the price of the free sour cream.

Recently because of your blog, I was able to get 2 bottles of A1 sauce for 19 cents!!!! They are regularly 4.19 at my Publix each, they were on sale last week BOGO and I had 2 coupons for $2 off of each!!!! I love this deal because we eat A1 on everything. Thanks for all of your hard work. I love All You magazine! It really is great.
One of my best "freebie" days ever was this past January, Inauguration Day, in fact. I started at Krispy Kreme for free star-shaped donuts, then headed to the mall where Macy's was giving out free cosmetics (part of the class-action settlement against Chanel, et al). Got that, then went down to Bath and Body to Use a coupon for a free full-sized lotion with any purchase. Snagged a scarf for my daughter on clearance plus a Children's Place coupon, then headed to Publix. Don't recall the exact savings there but probably pretty good since I had consulted this and other blogs before I went. Such fun!

i am new at this but have been saving between 55%-60% each week by shopping the sales and using coupons.
mollymcdonald@comsouth.net
I am sort of new to couponing but I went to Publix a couple of weeks ago and stocked up on snacky foods for the 4th. Almost everything I bought was BOGO free and I had coupons to boot. I can't remember exactly what I saved, but it has to be at least 75%. I was shocked to see the total when I checked out. :) Thanks for your blog.
Hi!
During a recent trip to CVS I used 11 coupons to purchase 12 items. (The one item I didn't have a coupon I got for free with Extra Care Bucks.) I saved $45.23. My husband and coworkers are amazed when they see the coupon deductions on my receipts.

Thanks for the great giveaway.
Hi Sarah! First of all, I have to tell you I love, love, love your blog! You do an outstanding job helping all of us really stretch those dollars!!
My favorite all time shopping trip was over a year ago. I went to CVS and was able to get 12 boxes of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and 9 jars of Planters peanuts for pennies. I wrote in my diary that I spent 79 cents, but I'm not exactly sure that's accurate. The reason it was my favorite shopping trip is that it became beginning of me learning how to coupon shop. It took me all summer, but I love matching those coupons to the sales!
Thanks for all you do!

The Publix cashier and bagger clapped for me after the transaction was completed, last week. As silly as it sounds, I was excited and proud. I forget the totals, but it was enough to elicit applause.

Big Brag: Just recently went to Publix...spent $13, SAVED $23!!!!
My best coupon deal was at publix for their boxed huggies diapers. There was a store sale for $14.99, i had a $5 publix baby club q, target $2, and a $3 manu coupon. So the box of diapers that usually cost $20 cost me $4.99!!

My first coupon experience was Thanksgiving morning at CVS. A good friend met me at 7 am and walked me through the process of ECB deals. I spent $7 oop and walked away with $120 in FREE products! I have since cut my grocery budget by $1,300 a year. Woo hoo!!!

My most memorable shopping trip was when the cashier was going through my stack of coupons taking off the money for each one. At one point, the register starting denying them and the cashier finally figured out that it was because I had reached over $50 in coupon savings. She had to summon the manger to come over to show her how to override the register to finish taking my coupons. In the end, I had $77 in coupon savings. I can't remember the exact percentage I saved, but I do remember being a little embarrassed by all the commotion, but I was quite pleased about my savings.
My favorite coupon trip was when I stocked up on vitamin water. It was free after the coupon on the bottles doubled. Free was so good.

Favorite trip: I love gong to Publix now, where I consistently save about 60% - but, my favorite trip was when I bought 8 Kellogg's cereal on the B1G1F sale (with coupons of course), plus if you bought 2 cereals you got a dozen free eggs (that meant 4 free dozen eggs) and you could also get a gallon of milk when you purchased 4 cereals (that was 2 free gallons of milk). So, for 8 boxes of cereal, 4 dozen eggs, and 2 gallons of milk I spent right at $2.00. I love it when you save a ton on stuff that you have to have anyway!

Favorite trip- I've saved a ton at Publix, of course, but my recent favorite was hitting CVS for 3 free boxes of Post cereal, then hitting Super Target for 2 free boxes of Kashi- 5 free boxes of cereal in one day! Woo hoo! Now if I could only serve THAT for dinner. Thanks for the great give away.
I'd love a subscription to All You Magazine! I pick it up on occasion, but don't have a subscription. There are some great coupons in there!
My favorite coupon trip ever... that's a tough one! Every time I leave the store and saved over 50% is a favorite time. :-) If I had to pick one, though, it'd be a trip to Walgreens over a year ago. It was in the good ol' days when they had the $5 off a $25 coupon that DIDN'T have to be a $25 total after coupons.... and I managed to leave the store with $38 worth of goodies (including razors and shave cream and chex mix and diapers) and they ended up paying ME $1.65 in cash to take it!! It was nuts. The cashier wasn't sure what to do when I had a negative balance, and when he asked the manager, he said to pay me the difference - so they did! Crazy. It's the only time I've ever left a store with more actual cash than I had when I went in. :-)
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

Just want to say I love your blog. I read it everyday. Thanks for all your tips.
Best shopping trip,, hmm I just started "couponing" about couple of months ago, and boy its been fun. I love being on "coupon high" :-)
I have to say my best trips are kmart double coupon days, I walk out with 100$ worth of products and pay less then 10 bucks or so. I love getting free things from there since kmart is already so overly priced :-) This week was great getting all the free pantene shampoo from there since we got that coupon last week in the insert.

I've been clipping coupons forever, but only recently added online coupons to my arsenal. Over Memorial day weekend, I got free kraft BBQ sauce and salad dressing, and almost free steak sauce, hot dogs, mayo, wheat thins, cream cheese, syrup, and sliced cheese. I also got 4 (large) boxes of cereal and a gallon of milk for $2.97, only $0.08 more than I would have paid for the milk, which was on my shopping list anyway! All in all, I paid $75 for over $180 in groceries (steak & salmon ran up the bill!).
I did my shopping on a friday night that weekend (unusual for me, I usually wait until Sunday so I can skim the Sunday paper for more coupons). My husband had friends over that night who watched me unload all the stuff, and then saw my receipt. They were so impressed they made me promise to blog about it with instructions and links for them to follow (I usually don't blog about my couponing). Imagine that - GUYS asking for help couponing!! So I did, and since I was really just getting started with printables myself, I told them to start with fiddledeedee :) Since then, I've also gotten several coworkers, my mother, and several of her coworkers to get serious about couponing, many of them even subscribed to All You after I showed them the first issue I bought from walmart two months ago :) Every Sunday my mother calls me to tell me how much she saved and the reactions of the people behind her when they see her total savings :)
Thanks for all the work you do - I know of at least a dozen people you help every week!!
I would love to win the subscription. My favorite coupon trip was several years ago. A grocery store was tripling coupons and I went with a friend after church one evening. We had fun trading coupons with other shoppers. When I left (around midnight) I had about $150 of groceries -- but I spent less than $10. My family was asleep but I took pictures so they could see all that I had bought. I would love the subscription to "All You".
Thanks -- Brenda

I have gotten many GREAT deals as a couponer! My latest would be I used a competitor's coupon for Bar-S hot dogs for $.49, I had 25 coupons for $1.00/2. I bought 50 packages of hot dogs & a $.50 pack of M & M's for my son. The overage on the coupons was $.50 so I walked away paying just &.03 in tax for the candy!

My favorite item I got paid to buy was my husband's asthma medication. We transferred 3 of his prescriptions to Rite Aid from Walgreens, and we got a $25 gift card for each one. Since our insurance co-pay was $20 each, we made an extra $15 off of money we would have had to spend anyway. :)

* My favorite was when I was at Publix one day and there was a sign for $3.00 off Enfamil formula. At the register it rung up regular price and I got the $24 can of formula for free!

My favorite trip ever was when I first started couponing last year. I was doing CVS for the first time and I got $85 worth of stuff for just a few dollars. This was the true start for me. We now are able to use "the good stuff", and pay way less than for the store brand stuff. I LOVE saving money!

I just started using coupons and recently found your site. I really appreciate your tips and posts. My best deal so far was yesterday when I went to CVS and got a bic soleil razor with 6 blades for free plus 1 penny back. It was marked down from 5.99 to 2.99 and I used a $3 coupon.

2 best couponing trips -
I went to Winn Dixie and for $25.21 purchased 26 items, which included 11 boxes of Kellog's cereal, 6 bottles of Mr. Clean spray bottles and refills, 1 bottle of cascade rinse and 8 Mr. Clean erasers. As a result of this transaction, I also earned e-movie tickets worth $24 and a B&D handheld vac, worth $30. Would have spent $100 for just the grocery items.
Next best coupon experience - Went to Walgreens to pick up some donations for my daughter's school's health and beauty supply drive for children in Mexico. Walked away with 4 Gillete Shaver 4 piece kits (elec. raxor, battery, shaving gel and ???) and paid 29 cents for that and some Ziploc storage bags. Would have spent $70 at WAGS for those items.
