Works for Me: Sprucin' up Veggies!

I'm a real stickler for everyone eating their veggies. Lest this statement conjures up images of me fervently chopping up and serving an amazingly wide variety of gourmet fresh vegetables each and every night, let me assure you - I try, but I'm no Martha (but shhh, please don't tell my husband or children, since I'm sure they haven't figured that out yet).

Here's what I do when I need to make something other than my (ahem) typical gourmet vegetables:

  • Steam frozen veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, I love me some Birds Eye veggies from Publix!)
  • Very lightly drizzle olive oil over top
  • Sprinkle Paula's House Seasoning over top (1/2 C salt, 1/4 C pepper, 1/4 C garlic powder, mix and store in airtight container for up to 6 months)
  • Stir and serve

Fast, easy, delicious, and healthy - that's what works for me!

Great idea, thank you! We use a lot of steamfresh veggies because they are so quick & easy, and this sounds like a good idea to make them a little more interesting!

Thanks for sharing this! I serve a veggie every night, but sometimes it seems like we are eating the same over and over again, so I'm glad to get a new suggestion!
