Silver white winters that melt into springs...

My Favorite Things this week are these flameless candles. They are wonderful and I have been looking forward to telling y'all about them!

I just used these candles at our July 4th party last weekend in some white wooden lanterns on the front porch. It looked like there were real candles inside, but I was able to leave them going without worrying about real candles getting knocked overand burning the house down, or children reaching in and getting burned. Yes ma'am, I was a happy girl!

The lights also last a really long time - around 80 hours, and when they finally do go dim, you simply replace the CR2450 battery and they're good as new! My mom bought these for me at Bed Bath & Beyond, but I believe they have them at Target and Walmart as well.

I am planning on using these inside of carved pumpkins in the fall. They would also probably be great for luminaries, especially if you're planning a wedding and don't want to use real flames at your ceremony or reception site. Of course, you can use them inside as well...the possibilities are endless!

Just make sure to read the warning label on these lights. Like Christmas lights and fluorescent bulbs, they shouldn't be handled by expecting mamas or small children. So if you fall into one of those categories, delegate the job to someone else. Then, sit back and enjoy your flame-free candles!

Those look great! And since they aren't scented I bet they don't attract as many insects.

I love the idea. I love candles, but don't burn them often because of the children. What's the warning for?
